We Stand On a Strong Foundation
From the time of our Club’s inception (December 2021) until the present, we have focused on providing impactful service projects within our local community and abroad. In addition to providing hands-on service, we are excited to take on our role as advocates for the most vulnerable members of society. We seek to make an impact for those need support in the areas of homelessness, health equity, hunger and cancer.
5 To Strive Campaign
This campaign, which is now entering its 2nd year, provide financial assistance to assist a senior community resident with a past due utility bill. A simple concept where each LEO gave $5.00 to help ensure a family’s daily life would not be interrupted. With time, we will seek ways to partner with the community for a broader impact. For now our message is simple – our aim is to “help somebody along the way. “
Elder Care International
All of our District’s LEOs have been raised to cherish their Elders and our Metro Omega LEOs values certainly align with this mandate. For the past year, our LEOs have working diligently to provide personal hygiene and incontinence products for the residents in a nursing home in Carriacou, Grenada. Each month, with the generous support of one of our community stakeholders, our LEOs are able to send barrels to the region via private plane at no expense to the Club. This seemingly simple gesture has a grand impact for it allows our Elders to live with dignity.
Thanksgiving Dinner Project
In 2021, our LEOs prepared a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner, for a family living in a domestic shelter. We also prepared a Thanksgiving meal for a grandfather of four who lost a loved one during the holiday season.
Environmental
Our LEOs partnered with the Lions of District 20-K1 for its year-long project of planting and growing vegetables for distribution within the community.
Rock The Socks Campaign
We had an amazing time participating in the “Rock The Socks” Campaign to raise awareness of Diabetes; a health problem which challenges men, women and children throughout the world.
Penny Care Drive
We were all-in when we received the request to save pennies which would be used to purchase personal care products for four persons in a local homeless shelter. As we were always told, pennies make dollars and dollars help make an impact!
Pill Bottle Campaign/Environmental Impact

Our Metro Omega LEOs understand the importance of environmental safety for all and it begins with seemingly small items such as medicine bottles. With the help of our parent/sponsoring Club, Brooklyn Metropolis Lions Club, family and friends, we sent 2413 to Hills and Valley Pharmacy, located in Carriacou, Grenada, WI for recycling and redistribution.
Our President, LEO Kayla Draghine, and our puppy mascot, Hachi (pronounced Ha Chi) provided hands-on support.
Holiday Toy Drive
The Holidays are truly special and we were honored to support our parent club, Brooklyn Metropolis Lions Club, to donate new Christmas gifts for children in need.
Thank you for your support!
